Unintelligent President

It seems to me...........

I don't know if there is such a word as unintelligent. But it seems apt for describing George W. Bush. Daily there are examples to illustrate this thought.

George W. Bush said today that Iraq is at the center of terrorism. Young people would respond with "duh!" But the problem here is that he is the one that caused this! This guy destablilized Iraq. Yes, I know that Saddam Hussein was a nasty guy. But there are a lot of nasty guys in Iraq and accross the middle east. Osama Bin Laden is a nasty guy. They all have a lot of nasty friends. They all act in the name of Islam. If you remove 100 nasty guys from the area, there are still millions left! It is the middle eastern mentality. So go figure, terrorism is only under control when a dominant nasty guy is at the helm.

I have noticed that George W. Bush repeats the same thing over and over, even when it has been proven to not be true. Does he think if he repeats it enough times, people will believe him? I think this only proves the unintelligence of George W. Bush!

President Jimmie Carter

Jimmie Carter has gone on record in saying that the George W. Bush presidency may be the worst ever! This was followed up by the Bush administration replying that President Carter is becoming increasingly irrelevant!

President Carter has withstood the test of time. He has become a respected statesman and has worked for peace and tolerance in the world. He has forged peace agreements between warring nations (Egypt and Israel), he has served on election oversight panels, and has worked to spread democracy.

George W. Bush has created unending war and created instability all over the middle east. Fuel prices have skyrocked. He took a budget surplus and created the greatest deficit in history.

Who would expect anything else from this administration but to cast aside the words of Jimmie Carter as being irrelevant? This from an administration that grows more stupid with each passing day.

War and Politics

It seems to me............

It seems to me that George W. Bush just doesn't get it! Congress passed legislation that set a timetable for the return of our troops from Iraq. Bush vetoed it.......surprise surprise! So then he said he looked forward to working with congress to draft a bill he could sign. Okay, so congress made some concessions, dropping the timeline and placed that before him. No deal. Is this guy stupid or does he just act like it? When will he get it that this war thing is going nowhere and American lives are going down the drain left and right? Not only are our people dying daily, the surviving soldiers are being left physically and emotionally scared beyond recognition!

Someone needs to sit accross from him.........may as well put Cheney next to him.....and drive it into his skull that the American people are sick to death of their stupidity!

As I drove past the gas stations, I see the price of gas is at $3.45 today. Good God! What has happened to this country? We will be paralized soon because we will be driven into depression because inflation will skyrocket. Things do not bode well for America as this insanity prevails!

Yolanda King

Yolanda King is dead! I don't know why that is news. Yes, she was the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. So why is it newsworthy that she has died of apparent heart failure at the age of 51? I think the media thinks it "should" be news so they report it. It makes me wonder what legitimate news story was not reported because the time was utilized to report her death when it has no real impact on the vast majority of American citizens. I am sure that her family is in shock to lose her at such a young age but for the remainder of the country, her death will soon be forgotten.

War

War. How can it be that we are involved in another never ending, head where the sun doesn't shine, daily loss of life? How can it be that George W. Bush learned nothing from Vietnam? I suppose he was too busy filling his face by means of silver spoons to realize that there really was something wrong with our involvement in the internal affairs of another country. I suppose he was too busy getting inebriated to attend his national guard drills. This is a real unqualified person in office. Another example of how Americans can be sold a bill of goods that are nothing short of stupidity!

The morning media was abuzz with the news of missing soldiers in Iraq. The liklihood of torture and sure death of these people serving their country in such a noble manner. That fulfillment of promises made when they took the oath of enlistment, swearing to uphold the constitution of the United States and obeying the orders of the president and the officers appointed over them. That fulfillment of promises even when the president himself was unwilling to fulfill his oath when he was a member of the reserve forces. Even when the president exibits stupidity that would confound any intelligent human being. I cannot help but feel the pain of the father being interviewed as the fate of his son remains in question. You see, my son now serves in the U.S. Navy and is stationed in that region of the world. My second son has now enlisted in the U.S. Navy and is scheduled for basic training in September. I served in the U.S. Army for 8 years of active duty which included Gulf War I. We felt that that war was justified because of the invasion of Kuwait and the internal affairs of Iraq were not meddled with. I say all this to render credibility to my words. I am left with an emptiness that engulfs my being when I am aware of our powers of government continuing on a course of utter nonsense, refusing to listen to the warnings of voices about the insanity of it all! Is George W. Bush really this stupid or is his voice driven by the money of oil companies who want control of oil fields. We know that they have already gained literally billions of dollars from this war. Only George W. Bush and God knows how much he has gained from it. It is staggaring to think!

Having served in the U.S. Army, I know the honor in which our soldiers serve. They deserve better than the stupidiy of our president!

Jerry Falwell

It seems to me.............

Jerry Falwell is dead! I find it necessary to comment on this guy. The news media are having a great time talking about him......and all the things he did. Let me see........he taught intolerance...........he taught self-righteousness......he got rich from getting people to send him money....in the name of God. Jesus taught selling your posessions to give to the poor. He took money from the poor to get rich. Jesus taught us to love one another. He taught hatred and non-forgiveness.

Yes, he is proof positive that people, particularly Americans, will believe any garbage you put out there as long as you package it right. They will believe anything!

I think the world is a better place without him. I wish a few more of his kind would take the same trip. I suspect he will have to answer for his transgressions at the final judgement. I highly doubt God is very pleased with him!

Conservative vs Liberal

What is conservative? What does that mean to you? I have the feeling that individual meanings vary greatly. But beyond that, I would also bet that the majority of Americans have no real concept of the true meaning.

Here's my point: Conservative refers to a very narrow interpretation of law. In other words, the letter of the law. If it doesn't say it in black and white - it ain't so! Now on the other hand, liberal refers to the spirit of the law. What did the legislators want to happen when they enacted the law? What did they expect to accomplish? You simply cannot reduce everything to words on paper so every law requires interpretation. That is where the administrative branch (I know there is no such branch per se) comes in. Public administrators are charged with the responsibility of interpreting law and putting rules into effect. Sometimes that occurs with a great deal of latitude. Conservatives would say that is not good, while liberals would tell you that it is necessary.

Now to the crux. We have the left wing which has its point of view and the platform points that go with it. It varies in degrees from just left of center to far left depending up how "liberal" the individual's belief structure fits into the spectrum. We also have the right wing that also has its point of view and the platform points that go with it. It also varies in degrees from just right of center to far right depending upon how "conservative" the individual's belief structure fits into the spectrum. BUT and this is a big but, is it truly liberal and conservative at this point? I don't think so. Here is why: I believe that the true conservative is the centrist. Right smack dab in the middle! That is the person who does not vary from the letter of the law. People in the far left are left wing liberals. People in the far right are right wing liberals. The people who are farther to the left or farther to the right have their agenda that is not written in true letter of the law but rather, have their interpretation as to the spirit of the law or what "should be." Both sides believe strongly that their concept for society is the correct one. The one that creates the best in society.

Unfortunately, there is little respect for opposing viewpoints. That makes it tough for compromise and work for what is best for the country. It is sad and makes us all cynical about the political process because when issues are dealt with along party lines, it is obvious that political agenda is the work of the day, not what is best for the country!

Our president and legislators should be ashamed of themselves!

It seems to me...........

It seems to me that there is a definate correlation to republican control of the presidency and unemployment. Actually, if you look at the statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, you can see that it does in fact show a rise in unemployment during republican control and a lowering of unemployment during democratic control. Now..........I wondered why that would be..considering that the common belief is that the republicans are driven by big business. Wouldn't full employment be better for business? Would they not be maximizing their potential by operating at full capacity? But then............wait a minute.........that would give labor too much power! The labor would be the limiting factor and therefore there would be power in that. So......if you raise unemployment......labor is on their heels, needing to protect their jobs, so they would be in a position of weakness! Hence.........unemployment is good for business! The business owner is in control and labor is not. Why do you think we are tapping into the cheap labor that is in abundance in China? Of course! Now American labor has no power whatever!

It seems to me...........

It seems to me...........is a regular occurrence on this blog. It is my editorial on things in this world.

It seems to me that George W. Bush is not the smartest president we have ever had. He just may be the least smartest individual to occupy that office. I think he tried to utilize some of the characteristics of the Reagan presidency but is not bright enough to pull it off. Watch his fellow republicans abandon him as the year progresses and gets ever closer to the election year. They will abandon him like rats abandoning a sinking ship. It's too bad it took this long for people to wise up!

It seems to me that the American people are easily sold a "bill of goods." I doubt the American electorate has much intelligence placed in their voting choices. They will go with what ever is popular or they perceive to be popular. That is how GWB got to be president.....along with some shifty work by a number of entities of the government.....perhaps the republican party. But the republican party noted the power of the media to influence the American electorate and how easily the American people are "sold" on an idea or political ideology. So they simply set out to purchase the American media. Hey, it has worked pretty well......wouldn't you say?
